Sewer Inspections for Good

Certified Main Line Sewer Inspections with a Purpose

Ready for Good offers reliable, professional main line sewer inspections for homeowners, realtors, and other parties involved in property sales, purchases, or maintenance. We specialize in inspecting the primary sewer line that connects your home or building to the city’s sewer system. Using the industry's most cutting-edge and reliable cameras, we assess the condition of that underground pipe—checking for cracks, root intrusion, blockages, sagging, and other forms of damage. Whether you’re preparing to sell, buying a property, or conducting preventative maintenance, we help you avoid costly surprises with expert service and fast turnaround times.

What sets us apart is that our sewer inspection program is also a social enterprise. Our certified and experienced inspectors bring expert industry knowledge to every job—and they’re also mentoring and training local youth in the trade. These are youth who are typically transitioning out of foster care, experiencing homelessness, or overcoming involvement in the justice system. They receive hands-on training, earn a paycheck, and build real-world job skills by assisting with inspections, under close supervision. It’s a powerful blend of professionalism and purpose.

This program was launched with the generous support of the Douglas County Community Foundation (Momentum and Community Grants), as well as the Lawrence Board of Realtors Foundation. All inspection proceeds go directly toward Ready for Good’s nonprofit mission—providing mentorship, paid work experience, job readiness training, and living-wage career pathways for young people facing significant barriers to employment and long-term success. When you book with us, you’re getting a top-quality, certified sewer inspection—and helping build a better future in the process.

 Fair Pricing with Honest Reporting

The cost of sewer scope inspections in the Kansas City–Lawrence region has increased significantly, with average prices rising to $220 in the past year. While rates typically range from $130 to $250, we offer a flat rate of $175—with no hidden fees.

Because we’re a nonprofit and not tied to any plumbing service, our reporting is completely unbiased. We have no incentive to exaggerate findings or upsell repairs. You’ll get honest, clear reporting from certified professionals who are committed to excellence, fast turnaround, and doing business with integrity. Our mission is to serve people—not profits.

We also invite real estate agents and home inspection companies to partner with us for ongoing referrals. We’re happy to offer volume discounts for regular use of our services.

Schedule Your Inspection Today

To book your sewer scope inspection, call or text our main inspector, Wyatt Butler, at (785) 727-7097 or email him at technician@readyforgoodks.org. We do inspections any day of the week, including weekends, and offer flexible scheduling. We can often fit jobs in quickly—frequently same day, and almost always within a day or two.

As part of our launch, we’re offering a limited-time $40 store credit to our nonprofit furniture store, Ready for Good Furnishings, for every inspection booked through July 31, 2025. (We will provide $10 to each real estate agent for every job they connect us to, and $30 to each homebuyer paying for the inspection.) As homebuyers prepare to move and need new furnishings, we want them to hear about our nonprofit furniture store! If they can find something they could use, while supporting our mission, it would be a win-win!
